Musical books

Today we played musical books. Thirty books were put on chairs. Students sat down to read new books when the music stopped. It an opportunity to try out books students might overlook. 

Cooperation Challenge

This month our focus word is COOPERATION.  We have been talking about cooperating, practicing it and sharing the frustrations that can sometimes come along when you are trying to work with someone else.  Today's challenge: Cooperate with your table mates to get Morning Work done!  Usually students work at their own pace, often not finishing by the time breakfast is over.  Right now, the conversations in the room are centered around answering each piece of Morning Work, but also I hear.

"Did you get that?"
"We need to work together."
"Let's look at this one."
"_________ keep up so we can all finish."
"What part don't you understand?"
"Do you need help with this part?"
