Getting it done

Hi friends,

I'm working hard to get the room ready for tomorrow's BBQ. It always amazes me how much there is to do. It's even overwhelming at times, but I am so excited to meet everyone and get started with our learning. Here is a sneak peak at the room.

Just kidding. Here is where I started. Soon I will post pictures of the completed room. I'm still not finished adding everyone's names to mailboxes and hooks. I need to make a run to Learning Palace for name tags and popsicle sticks. I have to sort through and display all of the books we will be reading during or first weeks together. Finally, I must clean my desk. Notice how BIG the room looks with nothing in it!

Can't wait to see you all next week. What will you do with the last few days of summer?

A few summer activities.

Here are some photos of my summer. I went home to Colorado for a few weeks. I do a lot of reading on the porch with my sisters. We sit and listen to the river. I even get a bit of a tan! My family sometimes throws parties. This year there was so much cotton wood I thought it was snowing. My Dad spent hours trying to clean it up before everyone arrived. I love hiking in the Colorado mountains. This summer I certainly got my fill.

When I arrived back in Portland I tried to get in as much as possible: food festivals, walking around the different neighborhoods, and museums. Next stop is OMSI's Game On 2.0. I can't wait to see if any of the video games I played as a kid are represented. What did you do this summer?
